#ITHURTS

We are launching a social campaign #ithurts — it is about copyright infringement, because it concerns real people.
You would say: “No, it is not a theft. When you steal something, it no longer can be found where it was, but movies or music remain intact.”
It is strange then why the neighbor who works in IT is so worried. His software is used by everyone and it hurts him. And he no longer wants to create anything.
WOULD YOU SAY THAT YOU ARE POOR AND CAN’T AFFORD TO BUY IT?
First of all, it is cheaper than you think. A popular movie costs from 25 UAH, a song — from 3 UAH, a book — from 1 UAH.
Secondly, there is a bunch of sites where you can watch, listen and read for free in a civilized way, because the authors earn on advertising. So it’s easier than it seems. Become that change you are expecting from the world.
First of all, call it what it really is — a theft.
Secondly, if you or your friends are personally concerned — tell everyone.
The Clear Sky Initiative has been fighting with the violations of intellectual property rights in Ukraine for 6 years already.
In 2018, “Clear Sky” along with the All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition launched the contest “Intellectual property is the same private property”. The advertising agency Publicis Ukraine became the winner of the contest. So they have created the idea of #ithurts campaign that we are implementing together now.
