Within the framework of the Kyiv International Advertising Festival (KIAF), a round table discussion on the violation of intellectual property rights in the Internet: “To work online legally is real” will be held.
A year ago there was the first public discussion of Ukraine’s advertising industry about advertising on pirate sites. Then the service blacklists.org.ua was presented to the advertisers. It is a monthly renewed list of sites, to which the right holders have claims. The Ukrainian Anti-Piracy Association (UAPA), which conducts monthly monitoring of the advertisements on these sites, warns brands about their advertising there and, in the case of system placement, publishes the results on the site. At the beginning of the year the research company Gemius published a separate report on sites from blacklists.org.ua.
Today, the term “cursed pirate treasures” refers to the financing of violations of intellectual property rights and is one of the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the round table of the KIAF we will discuss such issues.
- What are the statistics of advertising on pirate sites? Are the trends changing?
- How has the methodology of monitoring advertisement placing on pirate sites been changing, and why has it happened?
- What has stuck in the minds of advertisers, what has not? What should be changed, what are the advertisers’ needs at this stage, and with which can the right holders help?
- What’s new in the world; why has TAG expanded into Europe and will go on expanding? What are the successes in Europe and the United States in attracting B2B audiences to the fight against law abuses in the Internet?
