How to Identify a Pirate
In order to collectively detect the Ukrainian pirates and disclose them to advertisers, advertising agencies, internet hosts, payment and search engines, and all those who are not indifferent to the violation of the intellectual property rights, as well as to deliberately not use pirate resources, the participants of the “Clear Sky” Initiative together with partners have formulated simple guidelines on how to identify a pirate.
The service was created with the purpose of informing advertisers about possible risks in connection with changes in Ukraine’s laws. This particularly relates to Article 176 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which adds as a criminal offense the responsibility for the financing of acts of intentional violation of copyright and related rights. The service also provides information about the sites to which the right holders involved in the creation of the service have claims, as well as the results of the monitoring of brand advertising recorded on those sites.
